A 45-year-old man has been arrested after a three-month-old girl died from a savage dog bite in Teesside, Cleveland Police confirmed today.

Armed officers rushed to Hardale Drive, Dormanstown, Redcar, on Thursday afternoon. They shot one dog in the street and seized a second dog from the home, which was also destroyed. The tragic attack also left a 31-year-old woman injured, who was treated at the hospital for a dog bite.
Man on Bail After Arrest for Dangerous Dog Charge
The arrested man faces suspicion of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control, causing injury resulting in death.
He was questioned and released on conditional bail.

A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson added: “We were called to a private address in Redcar just before 1.30pm on April 9. Three ambulance crews, a clinical team leader and a duty officer attended.
