One of Donald Trump’s most senior White House advisers has slammed the President’s handling of the war with Iran. David Sacks, Trump’s own AI and cryptocurrency czar, warned the conflict could spiral out of control — with Israel possibly turning to nuclear weapons.
Speaking on the All-In podcast, Sacks cautioned against the “escalatory approach” in the Middle East. “Israel could get seriously destroyed. And then you have to worry about Israel escalating the war by contemplating using a nuclear weapon,” he said.
Calls for Swift Exit and De-escalation
Sacks is the highest-ranking Trump administration figure to publicly oppose the military campaign. A close ally of Vice President JD Vance, whom he helped fund, Sacks argued the US has already hit its main targets against Iran. Now it’s time to “declare victory and get out.”
“We need some sort of ceasefire agreement or negotiated settlement with Iran,” he added. His stance aligns with Vance’s more cautious, low-profile approach — contrasting sharply with hawkish voices like Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth.
Conflict Flares After Deadly Strikes
The brutal conflict erupted on 28 February when US and Israeli forces killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in surprise strikes. Iran and Hezbollah have since launched counterattacks, with over 1,300 Iranians reportedly dead. Israel has lost 12, while 13 US troops have been confirmed dead.
The war has rattled global markets and sent oil prices soaring — intensifying pressure on Washington to find a way out.
Is This a Turning Point in Trump’s War Strategy?
Sacks’ public break could signal a shift inside the White House. With key figures now urging talks and de-escalation, the question remains: Will Trump’s administration finally push for peace — or are more fiery confrontations ahead?
