Two arrested after street assault in Ryde

Two people have been arrested after carrying out an assault in Ryde on the Isle of Wight this evening (Wednesday April 24th) Officers were alerted to pair following the unprovoked attacked by a member of the public just after 11pm. Response and patrol officers from Hampshire Constabulary attended and two men were detained searched and have been arrested. Both have been taken into custody and have been taken to Newport Police for facing interview later. It is unclear how badly injured the attackers victim is. Hampshire constabulary have been approached for comment. More to follow
