Two More Teens Busted for Smethwick Murder
Police in West Midlands have charged two more 17-year-olds over the brutal stabbing of 18-year-old Zeshan Afzal in Smethwick.
The pair, whose names are being withheld for legal reasons, were detained yesterday and have now been formally charged with murder. They are set to appear at Wolverhampton Youth Court on 5 March.
Five Teens Now Charged in Total
This grim development comes after three other teenagers were charged earlier in connection with the murder. Zeshan was found seriously injured on Oldbury Road following a disorder just before 9pm on 20 February.
West Midlands Police said the investigation remains “very active” as they work to piece together the full story and identify everyone involved.
Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Up
Officers know multiple people were around the scene and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. They stressed that even the smallest detail could be vital to cracking the case.
“We still need to hear from anyone with information as it could prove vital in our enquiries,” said the police.
