4 Dead, Including Child, After Helicopter Crashes into Houston Radio Tower

A tragic helicopter crash in Houston, Texas, claimed the lives of four people, including a child, after the aircraft collided with a radio tower on Sunday evening. The crash occurred around 7:54 PM local time in Houston’s Second Ward neighborhood, according to Houston police.

The helicopter, a private aircraft, struck the tower near the intersection of Engelke Street and N. Ennis Street, just a short distance from Minute Maid Park, home of the Houston Astros. Officials confirmed that all four individuals aboard the helicopter were killed. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among those on the ground, as the crash did not impact any residential buildings or other structures aside from the radio tower.

The Houston Fire Department quickly responded to the scene and extinguished a fire that erupted following the crash. Officials stated that the fire spanned an area of two to three blocks but was contained without further damage to nearby properties.

The crash is now under investigation by local authorities, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to determine the cause of the incident. Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
