A tragic building collapse in the popular holiday resort of Playa de Palma has left four people dead and more than twenty-five others injured on Thursday evening.
Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 8pm following reports that the top terrace of the Medusa Beach Club, a well-known restaurant located on C. Cartago, had collapsed. Eyewitnesses described the harrowing scene as the two-storey building partially gave way, resulting in a chaotic rush to rescue those trapped beneath the rubble.
