Malmo was chosen as the host city after singer-songwriter Loreen secured victory in the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest with her powerful ballad “Tattoo.” This marked Loreen’s second win in the competition, making her the first woman to achieve this feat. Additionally, Sweden equalled Ireland’s record of seven Eurovision wins in total.
