Safe and Thousands Stolen from Horndean Tyres

Police are investigating after two safes containing thousands of pounds in cash were stolen from Horndean Tyre Services early this morning (Thursday, March 9). Shortly after 1am a staff member was assaulted by two men at the Portsmouth Road business and his keys were used to enter the building. The victim ran off and was uninjured. The two men removed the safes from the building before driving off in a red car. The victim described the men as: · White. · Slim build. · The first man was around 6ft tall, the second man was between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 10ins tall. · Both were wearing dark clothing and had their faces covered. · One man spoke with a local accent. · Both men were carrying hammers.
