Officers detained Jay White, 43, of Hertford Road in Islington, London, on the morning of Thursday, January 12, 2023. He was later charged with dealing in class A and B drugs as well as money laundering and was scheduled to appear before Medway magistrates on Friday, January 13th. Mr. White’s arrest is part of a Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate investigation into the sale of 6kg of cannabis and 5kg of cocaine between April and June 2020. The alleged offences were discovered after international law enforcement agencies cracked down on the illegal EncroChat mobile phone platform the same year.
