Mayday Call sparks Cowes Lifeboat Launch

RNLI lifeboat crews have revealed details on the dramatic rescue carried out this morning in storm force conditions. Volunteer lifeboat crew members from Cowes launched this morning to assist the crew of 40ft sailboat in major difficulty. The crew was requested to launch by UK Coastguard shortly after 12 lunchtime after a Mayday distress call from the sailing vessel received. Cowes RNLI’s Atlantic 85 lifeboat, Shenna Louise, was launched and arrived to find the boat floundering after its engines had failed.
