Section Of The A3 Closed After Vehicle Fire in Hampshire
A section of the A3 between Liphook(B2131)and A325 southbound remains closed this evening (Thursday) following a vehicle fire. Fire crews from Hampshire Fire and Rescue were called to extinguish the fire just after 10:15pm this evening fire fighters used a high pressure hose reel. One lane of the carriageway has been coned off by police after the heat from the vehicle fire damaged the road surface. Highways England have sent contractors to deal with the damage caused by the fire and a recovery truck to collect the carcass of the vehicle. The driver is thought to have escaped without injury after smoke starting pouring from the heating vents.
