Motorcyclist seriously injured in Erdington

A man riding a motorcycle suffered serious injuries after being involved in a collision with a car last night in Erdington.

West Midlands Ambulance Service received multiple 999 calls at around 10pm to reports of an RTC involving a motorcyclist and a car near McDonalds on the Chester Road, Erdington. Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and a MERIT trauma doctor were sent to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “The motorcyclist, a man, was in a serious condition upon the arrival of ambulance staff and was being cared for by members of the public who had stopped to assist.  The man was quickly assessed and found to have sustained serious injuries. His condition was stabilised on scene before he was conveyed on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham; the doctor travelled to continue treatment on route.

“The car driver was assessed on scene but didn’t require hospital treatment.”
