Tower Bridge stuck open leaving central London gridlocked
Tower Bridge is stuck open, leaving central London traffic in chaos and onlookers stunned.
The historic bridge has failed to close after opening to allow a tall ship to pass through along the River Thames.
The bridge’s arms, known as bascules, appeared lopsided this afternoon, after witnesses said they failed to come down in unison.
City of London Police say engineers are rushing to fix the bridge as motorists are urged to find other routes.
