Gun Attack at Isleworth Station: Two Teens Nabbed for Attempted Murder
Mohammed Ahmed, 19, from Hampton, and Mosaab Berrada, 19, jailed at HMP Wormwood Scrubs, were locked up for 21 years each after being found guilty of attempted murder at Isleworth Crown Court in February.
Ahmed also pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life and supplying class A drugs. Berrada admitted possession of a firearm, ammunition, and intent to supply class A drugs.
Terifying Taxi Shoot-Out in Broad Daylight
The shocking attack happened on 17 December 2018 near Isleworth station around 2:40pm. A 19-year-old victim and a friend got into a taxi after calling one nearby. The driver saw Junior Chartsrivisej, 18, involved in a heated row with the pair by the ticket machine.
As the taxi turned to leave, Chartsrivisej signaled to a group of men emerging from a path. Then Ahmed stepped in front of the taxi, brandishing a black handgun with a silver silencer.
Victims screamed, “Please help, get us out because they are going to kill us!”
Fearing for their lives, the driver sped towards Ahmed, who shifted aside and fired twice at the taxi’s rear window. The bullets missed the passengers by inches but shattered the glass minutes later.
Triad on the Run and Then Locked Up
Ahmed and Berrada fled on bikes after the shooting. Police found a cartridge case and a black knife at the scene. Investigators tracked all three suspects via CCTV and arrested them.
During a raid on Berrada’s home, cops uncovered three guns hidden in the kitchen extractor fan. Forensics confirmed one handgun linked directly to the shooting. It’s believed Berrada handed the weapon to Ahmed on that fateful afternoon.
Hard Justice and Strong Words from Authorities
Judge: “This was a grave crime—an attempt to kill by shooting into a car at close range.”
Detective Superintendent Gary Richardson said: “This was a shockingly brazen daylight attack in a busy station car park. The consequences could have been deadly not only for those in the taxi but for passersby, including children. Ahmed showed no remorse.”
Met Police Chief Inspector Richard Watkinson added: “This verdict sends a clear message — the Met and partners will work relentlessly to stamp out violence. The length of these jail terms reflects the terror this incident caused. Efforts will continue to make Hounslow streets safer.”
The third man, Junior Chartsrivisej, convicted of attempted grievous bodily harm, received a 13-year sentence on 23 July.
Thankfully, gun crime on the rail network remains rare, but when it strikes, the law hits back hard.
