London’s Metropolitan Police have launched an appeal for information following a fatal collision on Battersea Bridge. The incident occurred on the morning of Thursday, August 10, and involved a collision between a lorry and a cyclist on the north side of the bridge in SW10.
Officers were alerted to the incident at 7.55am on the reported date. Tragically, the collision resulted in the death of a 27-year-old woman from Battersea, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Her immediate family members have been notified and are receiving support during this difficult time.
After the collision, the lorry involved left the scene without stopping. However, officers were able to locate the vehicle later in Fulham, SW6. The driver of the lorry was spoken to by police as part of the ongoing investigation. Presently, the driver has not been arrested, and inquiries are continuing.
The Serious Collision Investigation Unit within the Metropolitan Police has taken charge of the investigation. Their focus is on collecting evidence and piecing together the events that led to this tragic incident. As part of their efforts, the unit is appealing to witnesses who may have seen the collision, have additional information, or possess dash-cam footage that could be relevant to the case.
