A massive search operation has been launched for a six-year-old child reported missing from a residence in the Thamesmead area. The Metropolitan Police, aided by National Police air support and dog handlers, are currently conducting an extensive search both on the ground and from the air.
The child, who has been missing from a property in the area, was last seen at their family home in Thamesmead. The disappearance triggered an immediate response from local authorities, who have deployed various resources, including the National Police air helicopter, to aid in the search efforts. They are currently searching the banks of the River Thames near to the property in a frantic attempt to locate the young child.
Time is of the essence in situations like this, and we are utilizing all available resources to ensure a swift and safe return of the child,” a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police stated. The area being searched is extensive, with both residential and parkland spaces requiring thorough coverage.
Dog units are also on the scene, helping to scour the area more effectively. These trained dogs are instrumental in tracking scents over large areas, which is critical in enhancing the chances of locating the missing child promptly.
