On Wednesday, August 14, at approximately 8.20 pm, police responded to a distressing accident on Bishport Avenue in Hartcliffe. The single-vehicle collision resulted in four individuals being rushed to the hospital, one of whom was in serious condition.
Tragically, it has now been confirmed by authorities that a five-year-old girl, who was among those injured, has succumbed to her injuries this week. The child’s family has been notified and is currently receiving support from a specially-trained family liaison officer during this incredibly difficult time.
As the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision continues, law enforcement officials are renewing their appeal for witnesses. They are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who may have witnessed the incident or possesses relevant dashcam, doorbell, or CCTV footage from the area around the time of the accident.
