16 People Wanted in Fatal Notting Hill Carnival Attack
Detectives have released images of 16 individuals they urgently want to question after a deadly assault near the Notting Hill Carnival. Chef Mussie Imnetu, 41, was found unconscious with a serious head injury in Queensway, west London, just before 11:30pm on August 26. Despite frantic attempts by police and paramedics, Mussie died four days later in hospital.
Attack Outside Dr Power Restaurant
The horrific attack happened outside the Dr Power restaurant after the Notting Hill Carnival celebrations came to an end. Mussie, who was visiting the UK from Dubai where he lived and worked, was reportedly enjoying the post-carnival buzz.
Police Hunt Key Witnesses to Piecing Together Tragedy
The Metropolitan Police have now released photos of 16 potential witnesses who were near the scene at the time. Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie, leading the probe, said a man has been charged but more details are needed about Mussie’s movements that day.
“It is believed Mussie left The Arts Club on Dover Street around 1pm on August 26 and later arrived at Dr Power restaurant at about 10:30pm,” said DCI Howie. “We want anyone who recognises themselves or others in these images to come forward. None are suspected of wrongdoing, but they may hold key information.”
“Did you see or hear anything before or after the attack? Even if you don’t live in the area, please get in touch.”
