Police Respond to Reports of Man Carrying Machete in Croydon

 

Police were called to Ampere Way, Croydon, at 3.46pm on Tuesday, 22 October, after receiving reports of a man seen carrying a machete. Officers quickly attended the scene and conducted a thorough search of both a tram and the surrounding area.

Despite the swift response, no one matching the suspect’s description was located. The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that their enquiries are ongoing.

A Met spokesperson stated, “Officers attended and searched the tram and the local area. No one matching the description of the suspect was found. Enquiries continue.”

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward. Witnesses or those with relevant details are asked to call the police on 101, quoting reference CAD 4879/22OCT.
