Ex-Cop David Carrick Hit with Fresh Rape and Firearm Charges
David Carrick, 47, already facing 44 offences including rape and sexual assault, has been slapped with nine new charges linked to a 13th victim. The allegations date back to 2003 but only surfaced in police reports last year.
New Charges Laid Against Former Officer
- False imprisonment
- Six counts of rape
- Indecent assault
- Possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence
The firearm charge refers to an incident before Carrick joined armed police duties. He was first arrested by Hertfordshire Constabulary in October 2021 and immediately suspended. Before that, he served with the Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command.
Court Date Set as Investigation Deepens
Carrick will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 30 November. He remains in custody as police and watchdogs continue their probe. The Independent Office for Police Conduct has been notified, reflecting the gravity of the case.
Police Take No Chances
The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards is keeping a close eye on the investigation, offering support to Hertfordshire officers. Misconduct proceedings are on hold until the criminal case concludes.
