Machete Alert Sparks Major Police Hunt in Croydon
Police swooped on Ampere Way, Croydon at 3.46pm on Tuesday, 22 October after reports of a man brandishing a machete on a local tram.
Tram and Area Thoroughly Searched – No Suspect Found
Officers launched an immediate search of the tram and surrounding streets. Despite their rapid response, no one matching the suspect’s description was caught.
“Officers attended and searched the tram and the local area. No one matching the description of the suspect was found. Enquiries continue,” said a Metropolitan Police spokesperson.
Police Urge Public to Come Forward
The Met is urging witnesses or anyone with information to step up. Anyone who saw the incident or knows anything should call 101 quoting reference CAD 4879/22OCT.
