Serious Crash Shuts Busy Hackney Road
A major collision between a car and a cyclist shut down a busy section of Kingsland Road, Hackney, for hours this afternoon.
Crash Causes Massive Traffic Chaos
The smash happened at around 2:10 pm near the junction of Bentley Road and A104 Dalston Lane, also known as Dalston Junction. Kingsland Road was partially closed from Bentley Road to Dalston Lane as emergency crews and crash investigators swarmed the scene.
Cyclist Hospitalised, Condition Stable
The cyclist was rushed to hospital in a non-life-threatening condition, authorities confirmed.
Metropolitan Police: “We were called at about 2.10 pm on Friday, February 21, to reports of a collision involving a car and cyclist on Kingsland Road in Hackney. Emergency services attended. The cyclist was taken to hospital. We await an update on his condition.”
The London Ambulance Service also responded quickly.
London Ambulance Service: “We were called at 2 pm today (February 21) to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Bentley Road and Kingsland Road, Hackney. We sent an ambulance crew to the scene and treated a patient before taking them to hospital as a priority.”
Road Reopens, Traffic Back to Normal
By 7:20 pm, Kingsland Road had reopened and traffic started flowing again after hours of disruption.
