Heartless Attack in Broad Daylight
Aaron Martin, 38, a homeless man from Salisbury, has been locked up for 33 months after he robbed a vulnerable man in Salisbury city centre. The vile assault happened on August 12, 2025, at around 7pm when Martin launched a vicious attack on his victim outside a food bank.
Brutal Beating and Humiliation
Martin punched the victim multiple times, stealing his mobile phone and other belongings — leaving him unable to call for help. He then humiliated the man further by dragging down his trousers in public. The victim, who struggles with limited physical mobility, sustained painful facial injuries.
In an impact statement, the victim revealed: “The attack has left me very fearful and full of anxiety. Every time I go out, I fear that I will be assaulted again. I feel in a permanent state of anxiety where I fear what might happen.”
Justice Served with Tough Sentence
Martin pleaded guilty to robbery at Salisbury Crown Court on April 9. Alongside his 33-month jail term, he received a six-year rehabilitation order. Local Crime Investigator Beverley Sargent condemned the attack: “Martin was aware of the vulnerabilities of his victim, yet continued with his attack, leaving him injured and unable to call 999 for help. This is unacceptable. I hope this custodial sentence gives the victim some closure.”
