Police are appealing for witnesses following a violent assault on a Bolt driver outside Nando’s in Lewisham.
The incident occurred around 3pm on Friday, 25 April, when the driver, described by his family as a “peaceful, hardworking, God-fearing man,” was violently attacked by two young men dressed in black.
According to an appeal posted by the victim’s family, the altercation began after the driver refused to make an illegal turn requested by the two suspects. The pair allegedly became aggressive, shouted abuse, and then brutally assaulted the man inside his own vehicle.
The victim suffered significant injuries and was left badly beaten before the suspects fled the scene.
In a plea shared on social media, the victim’s family said:
“We are desperate for justice. If you saw anything or have any CCTV footage, please contact the police.
Anyone with information is urged to come forward. Witnesses can either contact the police directly or message the family, who will provide the relevant crime reference number for making a report.
Police Investigation Ongoing
The Metropolitan Police" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked" data-wpil-monitor-id="194264">Metropolitan Police confirmed that they are investigating the assault and are reviewing CCTV footage from the area. They are asking businesses, drivers, and members of the public who were nearby at the time to check for any footage that could assist their inquiries.
