Tribute to Aaliyah Hancock, 19, Killed in Milton Keynes Collision

The family of a 19-year-old girl who tragically lost her life after being struck by a car in Milton Keynes have paid a heartfelt tribute to their “one-of-a-kind” daughter, sister, and best friend.

Aaliyah Hancock was killed in a collision at the junction of Simpson Drive and Groveway on Sunday, July 20. Emergency services rushed to the scene after reports of a pedestrian being hit by a Volkswagen Passat. Despite their efforts, Aaliyah was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was unharmed.

Today, Aaliyah’s family released a touching statement through Thames Valley Police, describing the young woman as “the life and soul” who “lit up any room she entered.”

To our one-of-a-kind Aaliyah, a daughter, a sister, a best friend loved by many — the life and soul, lit up any room she entered, loved like no other and loyal to the core, always helping others, putting them before herself,” the family said.

“This is a profound loss that cannot be filled. You may no longer be with us in the physical, but we feel you all around us in spirit. As you would say, ‘best believe’, your light lives on. Forever 19, our beautiful girl — may the angels take care of you, my love, in perfect peace. Love you so.”

Ongoing Police Investigation

Thames Valley Police have launched an investigation into the collision and are continuing to appeal for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage from the area at the time.

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said:

“We are asking anyone who may have seen the incident, or who has any information that could help our investigation, to come forward. Your assistance could be crucial in helping us understand the full circumstances of this tragic collision.”
