Police are appealing for witnesses after a man allegedly approached a father and his child in Dover before attempting to pull the child’s pushchair towards him.
The incident happened at around 4.30pm on Tuesday, 1 September 2026, on Pencester Road.
Kent Police said the father and child were approached by a man who allegedly went up to the pushchair, made an inappropriate comment and then began pulling the pushchair towards himself.
When the father confronted him, the man left the area.
The incident was subsequently reported to police and officers have carried out enquiries, including examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area.
Police issue description of man
The man, who is not known to the family, is described as around 5ft 7ins tall and approximately 40 years old, with medium-length brown hair.
He was believed to have been wearing a grey long-sleeved jacket with a dark top and trousers.
Investigators are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has information which could assist their enquiries to contact Kent Police on 01843 222289, quoting reference 46/144960/26.
Motorists with dashcam footage and residents or businesses with CCTV covering the area are also being asked to check their recordings for anything relevant.
