A tragic case in Westminster as a 43-year-old woman faces murder charges over the death of her newborn baby.
18-Day-Old Baby Dies After Falling From Height
At around 7:30am on Saturday, March 14, police were called to Horseferry Road following reports that a baby had fallen from a height at a residential property.
The infant, just 18 days old, was rushed to the hospital but sadly passed away.
Mother Arrested and Charged
Zahira Byjaouane, aged 43, living on Horseferry Road, was charged with murder the next day, Sunday, March 15. She is the baby’s mother and has been remanded in custody.
Byjaouane is set to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, March 16.

The Met’s Specialist Crime Command are leading the inquiry into this heartbreaking case.
