Residents in
Chatham are being
urged to keep windows and doors closed after a fire broke out in a
derelict building on
Ordnance Street this afternoon.
Six fire engines and a
height vehicle from
Kent Fire and Rescue Service are currently tackling the blaze, which is producing
significant amounts of smoke over the
Medway area.
Public Safety Alert Issued
The fire service is working alongside
Kent Police" href="https://www.kent.police.uk" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked" data-wpil-monitor-id="125474">Kent Police, and emergency crews remain on the scene as firefighters work to
extinguish the flames and prevent the fire from spreading.
