Police were called at 10.11pm on Monday, 2 May to reports of a collision involving a cyclist and a bus in Kennington Road, at the junction with Lambeth Road.
Mr Mapp’s family have been informed.
The bus driver stopped at the scene and continues to assist officers with their enquiries. There have been no arrests.
Detective Sergeant Nick Bale of the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command said: “The scene of the collision is a busy road and I am sure that there were witnesses who have not yet come forward. I urge those people to get in touch.
“Similarly, I would ask any motorist who was in the area at the time of the collision to check their dash cam and if they have footage of the collision, or the events surrounding it, to contact us without delay.”
