An ASDA supermarket in Beddington was evacuated this morning following reports of a fire at the premises.

Emergency services were called to the store on Beddington Lane at just after 9:30am on Thursday, March 14, 2025. Fire crews from London Fire Brigade have responded swiftly to the scene, initiating a full evacuation of the building as a precaution.

The evacuation was carried out efficiently with all staff and customers safely removed from the premises. Witnesses reported seeing emergency vehicles arrive within minutes as firefighters conducted safety checks and investigated the source of the fire that is undetsood to have borken out in the bakery section of the store.

At this time, it is unclear if there was an active fire or whether the alert was triggered by another incident within the building. No injuries have been reported, and authorities have not confirmed the extent of any damage.

Fire services remain at the scene and an investigation into the cause of the alert is ongoing.

Shoppers are advised to avoid the area while emergency services continue their operations. Further updates are expected as the situation develops.
