Merseyside Police are conducting an investigation following a reported incident on a Stagecoach bus in Kirkby last Friday. Social media posts, claim that a man attempted to abduct a child and subsequently attacked the bus after being removed, that claim has since been refuted by police.

The police were alerted to the disturbance on Whitefield Drive shortly after 6pm. Upon arrival, officers detained three men who had been ejected from the bus. A Metropolitan Police officer has been charged with common assault after an off-duty incident in Brentwood earlier this year" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-wpil-monitor-id="26301">common assault against a male victim has been recorded. They urge the public to refrain from speculation.
