Russia has vowed to respond to what it calls a “terrorist attack on a civilian ship” in the Kerch Strait and punish those responsible for the incident. The attack occurred on a vessel, identified as a Sig tanker by Russian media, approximately 17 miles (27 km) south of the Kerch Bridge, which connects occupied Crimea and Russia.
According to Ukrainian security services, they claim responsibility for the attack however they have denied targeting civilian ships revealing that a sea drone carrying 450 kilograms (992 pounds) of TNT was deployed in the attack. The drone struck the vessel, resulting in significant damage and heightened tensions in the region.
