Abandon clothing sparked sea and land search in Gosport
A coastguard search and rescue team from Hillhead and a lifeboat both launched this evening after a pile of clothing was found close to the water’s edge. The teams of volunteers carried out a full search after the alarm was raised by an off duty crewman from the lifeboat. A full search was carried out on land and sea by the coastguard team and Portsea Rescue. Following further investigations, the search was called off.
