Emergency Services Respond to Summerston Incident
Armed police have swarmed Drumlaken Street in Glasgow’s Summerston area this morning, sparking evacuations and major road closures. Officers were called to the scene at around 9:50am on Monday, December 15.
Major Police Presence and Roadblocks
Firearms officers remain on site amid an ongoing investigation. Roads including Caldercuilt Road (between Arrochar Street and Rothes Drive) and Arrochar Street at Drumlaken Street are shut to traffic. Nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution, with residents temporarily relocated to a local community centre.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said:
“Around 9.50am on Monday, 15 December 2025, officers attended an address on Drumlaken Street in Glasgow in connection with an ongoing investigation. Police, including firearms officers, remain at the scene. A number of nearby properties have been evacuated as a precaution. There are road closures in place on Caldercuilt Road, between Arrochar Street and Rothes Drive, and Arrochar Street at Drumlaken Street.”
Man Arrested, Residents Return Home
The tense lockdown ended late Monday evening as police arrested a 56-year-old man linked to the incident. By 7:15pm, evacuated residents were allowed back into their homes following confirmation that there was no wider risk to the public.
