A disqualified driver smashed into a home in Wolverhampton after fleeing from police officers on November 9.
Chase Ends in Crash on Myrtle Street
Local police officers tried to stop Mohammed Chowdhury from driving a Volvo on Windsor Road. Instead of pulling over, the 27-year-old sped off and crashed into a property wall on nearby Myrtle Street.
Arrest and Charges Follow
Chowdhury tried to escape on foot but was tracked down and arrested the next day in Smethwick. He was charged with:
- Driving while disqualified
- Criminal damage
- Failing to stop for police
- Driving without insurance
Jailed for 18 Weeks
At Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on November 12, Chowdhury pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 18 weeks behind bars.
“Our neighbourhood officers acted quickly to bring Chowdhury to justice,” a police spokesperson said.
The incident caused alarm in the Parkfields area, with locals left shaken by the crash.
