Officers tried to pull over Mohammed Chowdhury, 27, driving a Volvo on Windsor Road. Ignoring police commands, he sped off, losing control and smashing into a property wall on nearby Myrtle Street.
Fugitive Caught and Charged
Chowdhury attempted to flee on foot but was caught the following day in Smethwick. He now faces multiple charges, including:
- Driving while disqualified
- Criminal damage
- Failing to stop for police
- Driving without insurance
Sentenced to 18 Weeks Behind Bars
At Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on November 12, Chowdhury pleaded guilty. He was promptly sentenced to 18 weeks in jail.
“Our neighbourhood officers acted quickly to bring Chowdhury to justice,” a police spokesperson said.
