Undercover and uniformed police swooped on a group outside The Hippodrome casino in Leicester Square last week after CCTV spotted suspicious activity.
Drug Deal Caught on CCTV in West End
The Met revealed officers were drawn to a gang of males approaching members of the public, believed to be making a quick drug deal. CCTV footage showed a potential buyer walking off down Charing Cross Road.
Buyer Nabbed with Class A Drugs
Police stopped and searched the buyer, arresting them after discovering a stash of Class A drugs. The pressure ramped up as officers then moved in on the suspected dealers.
Two Flee But One Caught with Knife
Two suspects tried to escape, but cops were hot on their heels. One was slammed into custody near Leicester Square, found with a knife tucked in his waistband. He now faces charges for drug dealing and knife possession.
Cash and Drugs Seized from Others
The second runner was caught too, found carrying a large sum of cash. He’s been arrested for involvement in Class A drug supply. Meanwhile, two more males who stayed put were searched and also arrested after drugs and cash were found on them.
