High-Risk Motorist Nabbed on Malden Road Roundabout

Just after 8pm on Sunday, 23 November 2025, a tip-off from a vigilant member of the public led police straight to a danger on the roads. The Roads Policing Unit stopped a car at the Malden Road roundabout in New Malden after reports of reckless driving on the A3.

41-Year-Old Lucas Alves Pinheiro Fails Breath Test Miserably

The driver, 41-year-old Lucas Alves Pinheiro from Sutton, blew a staggering 138 micrograms of alcohol per 100ml of breath — nearly four times the legal limit of 35. His vehicle was immediately seized. Further tests in custody revealed readings of 100 and 87, confirming he was well over the legal threshold.

Swift Justice: Disqualified for 22 Months

Pinheiro was charged with driving over the limit and appeared at Staines Magistrates’ Court the very next day. He has now been banned from driving for 22 months.

Police Urge Public to Keep Reporting Dangerous Drivers

The force praised the public for their crucial role in spotting offenders. “Your calls make a real difference,” they said. “If you suspect someone is driving under the influence, please report it – you could save lives.”

Police warning: “We’re committed to cracking down on drunk drivers. Think you won’t get caught? Think again.”
