€350,000 Worth of Drugs Seized in Co. Meath as Gardaí Target West Dublin Crime Group

 

Gardaí from the Dublin Crime Response Team (DCRT) have seized an estimated €350,000 worth of drugs during a major search operation in Stirling, Co. Meath, as part of an ongoing investigation targeting a criminal group based in West Dublin.

The search was conducted yesterday (March 19) and forms part of a long-running operation aimed at dismantling organised criminal activity in the region.

During the course of the search, officers recovered a significant quantity of illegal substances, including:

  • 12 kilograms of cannabis herb
  • 400 grams of heroin
  • 8 bars of cannabis resin
  • A variety of cannabis oils, gels, jellies and vapes

The total estimated street value of the seized drugs is €350,000, pending forensic analysis.

Four men were arrested at the scene and are currently being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996. They can be held for up to seven days while further investigations are conducted.

A Garda spokesperson said:

“This seizure marks a significant development in our efforts to disrupt the supply and distribution of illegal drugs by organised criminal groups operating in the Dublin region. We will continue to pursue those involved in the trafficking of controlled substances and bring them to justice.”

Investigations are ongoing, and further updates are expected in due course.
