Teen Slapped with Ban After Early Morning Booze Drive
Harvey Teale, just 18 and fresh from passing his test, was caught drink driving barely three weeks later. The Larkhill teen pleaded guilty at Salisbury Magistrates Court on November 28 after being spotted stumbling into his Vauxhall Corsa around 1.30am on September 28.
Shocking Driving Sparks Police Hunt
Eyewitnesses raised the alarm as Teale showed clear signs of intoxication before driving off toward Southampton Road. Police soon found the car, noting his erratic and unsafe driving. Teale failed a roadside breath test, confirming he was well over the legal alcohol limit.
Police Warn: Don’t Drink and Drive This Christmas
PC Aaron Pedliham slammed the reckless behaviour: “Teale had only held a driving licence for three weeks before he was caught over the drink drive limit. His driving was far below acceptable standards and put lives at risk.”
“Driving under the influence is one of the fatal five offences responsible for serious injuries and deaths on our roads.”
“With Christmas parties in full swing, please plan ahead and don’t drink and drive.”
Hefty Penalty for Dangerous Driving
Teale received a driving ban, a £120 fine, £85 towards CPS costs, and a £48 surcharge—serving a hard-hitting reminder that drink driving carries serious consequences.
