EastEnders Star Heather Peace Reveals Cancer Battle in Emotional Video

 

BBC EastEnders actress Heather Peace has revealed she has been secretly battling breast cancer for several months, moving fans and co-stars alike with an emotional Instagram post.

The 49-year-old star, best known for playing Eve Panesar-Unwin on the long-running soap, shared a heartfelt video showing her wig fitting as she marked the end of her chemotherapy treatment.

“It’s Been Quite a Road” — Peace Opens Up

In a message accompanying the video, Heather wrote:

“I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the beginning of October. Since then I’ve undergone surgery and recovery over the Christmas period and today my chemotherapy journey ended.”

Describing the end of her treatment as feeling like reaching the “finish line” of the London Marathon, she said:

“To conclude – I’ve just picked up my medal.”

A Journey of Change and Gratitude

Peace said the experience has “forever changed” her, adding:

“I’ve narrowed my world, found joy in the simplest of things… interactions with others have felt honest and real because I’ve had no capacity for small talk.”

She thanked the BBC EastEnders team, the NHS, and her local community for their support, highlighting the love and care she received throughout her journey.
