A fire broke out in the basement of Café Vergnano 1882, a popular café on High Holborn, on Monday afternoon, prompting an urgent response from the London Fire Brigade.

Emergency services were called to the scene at High Holborn at just after 3pm following reports of smoke emerging from the building. Firefighters quickly arrived, working efficiently to contain the electrical fire before it could spread further.
The fire, which started in the basement, was successfully extinguished, preventing serious damage to the historic premises, which is located near Chancery Lane and the renowned Staples Inn.
