Firearm, Zombie Knife Seized and Two Teens Arrested in Hockley Raid
Two teenage boys have been arrested after West Midlands Police recovered a firearm, ammunition and a zombie knife during a pre-dawn raid at a property in Shakespear Crescent, Hockley.
Gangs Team Strike Early
Officers from the Birmingham Gangs Team executed a warrant in the early hours of this morning as part of ongoing efforts to tackle armed criminality in the area.
A search of the premises led to the discovery of:
- A loaded firearm
- A quantity of ammunition
- A zombie-style knife
The two teens, aged 15 and 16, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession of a firearm and related offences. Both remain in police custody for further questioning.
Police Statement
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police confirmed:
“We have seized a firearm and arrested two teenagers after carrying out a warrant at an address in Birmingham.
Officers from our Birmingham Gangs Team carried out the operation in Shakespear Crescent, Hockley, where they recovered a firearm, ammunition, and a zombie knife.”
Ongoing Investigation
The arrests come amid rising concern about youth involvement in gang-related activity and knife crime across the region. Police say inquiries are ongoing and further action may follow.
