Firefighters called to a 60-acre field of standing crops near Winchester

More than 30 firefighters were called to a 60-acre field of standing crops and stubble alight near Winchester. Appliances from Winchester, Eastleigh and Hampshire fire Headquarters were called at just after 1pm on Tuesday July 10th with further Land Rovers and other support vehicles coming from Alresford, Basingstoke, Fareham, Andover and Lyndhurst. Crews dampened down and checked for any further hot spots before handing the incident back over to the owner. The stop message came in at 3pm on Tuesday afternoon.
