Teen Driver Jailed for Deadly Lincolnshire Crash

An 18-year-old girl has been locked up for 14 months after a tragic crash that killed two teenagers in Lincolnshire.

Madeleine Lonsdale Pleads Guilty

Madeleine Lonsdale, from Long Bennington, admitted causing death by careless driving. The horror smash happened in the early hours of 20 June 2025 on Toll Bar Road, Marston.

Deadly Crash Details

At around 1.40am, Lonsdale was driving her Kia Niro 4 EV from the A1 towards Marston. She lost control on a sharp right-hand bend and slammed into a tree. Harrison Carter, 18, in the front passenger seat, and 17-year-old George Stephenson, in the back, died instantly.

The group had stopped just moments before at the Esso service station near the A1 and Toll Bar Road junction to buy snacks. The deadly crash came mere minutes after they set off again.

Sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court

At Lincoln Crown Court today, Lonsdale was sentenced to 14 months behind bars. She’s banned from driving for three years, five months, and two weeks. To ever get back on the road, she must pass an extended driving test.
