The London Fire Brigade (LFB) has confirmed that their Fire Investigation team will return to the site to conduct a thorough investigation into the cause of the blaze.
The fire, which erupted yesterday, prompted a large emergency response as firefighters worked to bring the flames under control. The incident caused significant disruption, with the area around Somerset House cordoned off as a safety measure.
While the full extent of the damage has yet to be assessed, initial reports suggest that parts of the historic building sustained damage. Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries, and everyone in the building was safely evacuated.
