Five suspects have been charged following a chilling shooting near The Lanes Shopping Centre in Sutton Coldfield. The dramatic incident unfolded at around 7.30am on Friday, 24 October, leaving one man injured but thankfully not fatally.
Man in His 30s Survives Gun Attack
The victim, in his 30s, was rushed to the hospital, where medics confirmed his injuries are not life-threatening. West Midlands Police’s Major Crime Unit immediately launched a full investigation, combing CCTV footage and piecing together evidence to track down those responsible.
Charged: Conspiracy to Murder and More
After intense inquiries and collaboration with other forces, five people were locked up and officially charged:
- Kirstie Gavin, 32 – Attempted murder and conspiracy to murder
- Adrian Hylton, 43 – Attempted murder, conspiracy to murder, robbery, and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life
- Dwaine Patterson, 46 – Conspiracy to murder
- Terrence Regis, 43 – Attempted murder, conspiracy to murder, robbery, and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life
- Carly Smith, 36 – Conspiracy to murder
All five appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court and were remanded in custody ahead of their next hearing at Birmingham Crown Court next month.
