Mark Gibbon, a granddad from Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, faces little punishment after allegedly trying to drown his daughter-in-law in a Florida swimming pool. The electrical engineer has flown back to the UK and quietly resumed work following a shocking family bust-up.
Dramatic Florida Pool Incident
The horror unfolded at Florida’s Solterra Resort during a vicious row over a will, police say. Gibbon, 61, reportedly grabbed 33-year-old Jasmine Wyld and tried to push her under the water. When Jasmine’s nine-year-old daughter tried to intervene, Gibbon shoved the child away.

He was arrested and slapped with serious charges, including second-degree murder and strangulation. However, these were later dropped, and he pleaded guilty only to battery. Gibbon was bailed out after coughing up $26,000 and completed an anger management course before returning home.
Daughter-in-Law Forgives, Visits & Supports
In a twist, Jasmine Wyld has forgiven Gibbon and even visited him at his £800,000 home in Beaconsfield. A family insider told the Daily Mail: “Jasmine has obviously forgiven him and he’s grateful she played such an important role in securing his freedom.”
