Lee Hadley, the man who was reported missing in May and whose disappearance sparked widespread concern and community efforts, has sadly been found deceased, his family has confirmed.
In a heartfelt social media post, a family member shared the tragic news, writing:
“Lee has sadly been found deceased, please respect that I’m not in a place to be talking to anybody right now.”
Lee, described as a devoted family man and partner struggling with severe grief following the recent loss of a loved one, was last seen on Thursday 9 May 2025, after reportedly selling his mobile phone at a Cash Converters in Blackheath.
He was 5ft 2ins, last seen wearing a grey long-sleeved top, grey jogging bottoms and grey Nike trainers. His family had expressed deep concern for his mental wellbeing, noting that Lee had not been himself since the passing of his partner’s mother four months ago.
Emotional Plea and Reward Offered Before Discovery
Prior to the discovery, family members had offered a reward for any information leading to Lee’s whereabouts, emphasizing that they did not care about the circumstances—only that he be found safe.
In a now poignant appeal, his stepdaughter wrote:
“This man has children, family and so many people who love him and will do anything for his safe return home.”
She continued:
“The past four months have been hell for us as a family. The man I call my stepdad is broken, and his mental health is at an all-time low.”
Investigation and Community Support
West Midlands Police had issued a PID reference of 447032, and extensive searches had taken place, including visits to hospitals and mental health facilities. Members of the public across Wales and the West Midlands were urged to share the appeal.
Community members shared the post thousands of times in support, with many expressing concern and solidarity for the family’s pain.
Support for the Family and Mental Health Awareness
The family has asked for privacy during this unimaginable time, and tributes have begun to pour in on social media remembering Lee as a “kind soul who loved deeply.”
This tragic outcome serves as a reminder of the impact of unresolved grief and mental health struggles. Those affected by similar issues are urged to reach out for support through local services or national helplines like Samaritans (116 123).
