A man has been slapped with charges following the theft of a festive nutcracker statue in Sheerness. The bite-sized bust-up unfolded on Friday, December 5, 2025, when Kent Police were called at 1.33pm to reports of the missing Christmas decoration on Broadway.

Investigation Leads to Arrests and Charges

Police sprang into action, arresting two men linked to the nutcracker heist. John Bain, 39, from Invicta Road, Sheerness, faces three counts of theft. Two of these charges relate to separate shoplifting incidents at Neats Court Retail Park on November 25 and December 1. He’s now out on bail ahead of his first court hearing at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
